Recommendation

May 16, 2017
To Prospective Employers: This is a letter of recommendation for Mara Woetzel.
I am an Assistant Professor in the Business/Economics Department at Bethel University where I teach Principles of Marketing, Marketing Research and Consumer Behavior. Prior to my position at Bethel, I worked in the advertising field for thirty years. I feel that my business experience and familiarity with today’s college students has equipped me with a meaningful, comparative context with which to assess students relative to their peers.
I met Mara Woetzel in the spring of 2016 as a student in my Marketing Research class. Mara stood out from the other students in a number of positive ways; she listens intently, she initiates discussion and she thinks outside the box. Mara was also instrumental in arranging for a guest speaker from the business community to share some of their real-world experience related to the topic of the week.
As is the privilege of most coaches and teachers, I have numerous opportunities to watch my students operate in their own habitat, among their peers. Everything I have witnessed tells me that Mara is a consistent performer. She is serious in class and well liked by those around her. She is inquisitive, proactive, collaborative and detail-oriented.
One of the things I like most about Mara is that she’s a wonderful team player. My class does a lot of “group” projects and it was quite evident that Mara leads and works well with others. She listens respectfully to those around her, she synthesizes the information shared by the group and typically, and she is the one to establish a plan for next steps.
Please give Mara Woetzel careful consideration; she’ll make you proud you hired her.
Respectfully submitted,
Jeff Stitt
